There were a ton of big names in attendance as well as some lesser known players who are working hard to make names for themselves. Here are a few prospects who impressed me:
Ryan Agarwal – 2022 6’5 Forward (3D Empire 15U) Coppell HS – This kid has a certified strap. He is a lethal shooter from just about anywhere on the court. Agarwal is tremendous in catch and shoot scenarios, and he is equally effective at shooting off the dribble. He can also utilize his beautiful jump shot from mid-range as well as in the post. Additionally, the sophomore forward’s size allows him to take and make contested shots from deep. He’s also an efficient scorer on the drive.
Adante Holliman – 2022 5’10 Point Guard McAlester HS – Holliman is a volume scorer. He takes a lot of shots, but he doesn’t sacrifice his efficiency while doing so. He is brilliant on the drive and showed the ability to absorb contact and finish in traffic. The point guard from Oklahoma is a solid passer and three-point shooter too. Holliman is great at the other end as well. He has a high motor and quick hands. He was able to hold his own versus other talented guards and came up with a bunch of steals.
Lee Dort – 2022 6’10 Center (Nike Drive Nation E15) North Dallas Adventist Academy – I haven’t had the opportunity to watch many truly elite bigs this year. It was an absolute treat to watch Dort play. He is bigger and stronger than just about everyone his age. Dort has a lot of skill to go along with his size too. He is a powerful finisher in the post and a great rebounder at both ends. I even saw him bring the ball up on offense and hit a pull-up three pointer. If he can continue to develop his jump shot, he will be a nightmare to deal with at the next level.
Dallas Hobbs – 2022 6’1 Point Guard Oak Cliff Faith Family Academy – Hobbs is an excellent passer. He has a great handle on the ball which he uses to maneuver through the defense and find open teammates on the wing or down low. His court vision is remarkable for someone his age. He also displayed the ability to hit an open three, which is practically a necessity for guards in today’s game. Furthermore, Hobbs is an incredible athlete. He showed off his vertical by blocking a shot off the backboard.
Rylan Griffen – 2022 6’5 Shooting Guard/Small Forward (Nike Drive Nation E15) Richardson HS – We have Griffen listed at 6’5″, but the camp listed him as 6’0″. After seeing him in person for the second time, his true height is probably somewhere in between. However, I am certain that Griffen can play. He is super smooth at the offensive end and has a quick first step. He has a great all-around game. The sophomore wing is also an accurate passer. I saw him make a gorgeous full court pass that hit his teammate perfectly in stride for an easy two.
