Po’Boigh King is a growing name in the recruiting ranks since joining Word of God Academy this season. He’s currently ranked No. 5 in the 2022 PrepHoops North Carolina rankings. He’ll be a prospect that will turn heads given his ability to shoot the ball from all three levels and finish in traffic in the paint. He’s already gotten offers from Ole Miss and Arizona State. He’s due for a strong season in the 2022 class.
Sheick Samoura – Guard – Triangle Math & Science Academy
Sheick Samoura is another prospect due to rise in North Carolina’s 2022 class. He’s rated No. 13 in the 2022 PrepHoops rankings and with good reason given his strong frame and slashing ability at 6-foot-2. He’s got good length and athleticism with the ball in his hands and can shoot the 3 when his feet are set in the halfcourt. He’ll be one to watch this season.
Jeremy Gregory – Forward – North Mecklenburg
Jeremy Gregory is an emerging forward prospect in the 2022 class due for a strong season in the North Mecklenburg frontcourt. Gregory has good mobility for his size at 6-foot-6 and has a nice jump shot to go along with his efficient moves in the post. He’s the No. 18 ranked prospect in the 2022 class and can very easily climb with a strong season in 2019-20.
Kameron Byrd – Forward – Walter Williams
Kameron Byrd is a young, versatile prospect at 6-foot-6 with room to grow this high school season. He’s an aggressive driver with the ball in his hands and can already finish with authority. He’s the 38th ranked prospect in the PrepHoops North Carolina rankings. As he figures out his role as an energy player and difference-maker, he’ll be one to keep an eye at Walter Williams High School.
Neeko Taylor – Guard – Farmville Central
Neeko Taylor is an intriguing combo guard with good potential in the sophomore class of North Carolina. He’s only 6-foot-1 but has a nice wingspan that he uses well to get to the rim and defend the basketball. His ability to defend the basketball should earn him some extra time at Farmville Central this season. Taylor is No. 49 in the 2022 PrepHoops North Carolina rankings.
Omar Harris – Guard/Forward – Washington County
Washington County has an intriguing rotation of players on it’s hands this season. One of those players is 6-foot-3 wing prospect Omar Harris. Harris has a solid frame at 6-foot-3 that he uses well to create contact off the drive and get to the rim. He has a chance to really grow in this class and is currently ranked No. 62 in the PrepHoops ranks.
Moses Tufts – Guard – Ayden Grifton
Moses Tufts is a player at Ayden Grifton with good potential and a bright future after a strong summer on the AAU circuit with Team Trezz. He’s a player that can create on all three levels and knows how to effect the game on the defensive end as well. As the 70th ranked player in the PrepHoops North Carolina rankings, he’s got room to grow in the 2022 class at the combo guard spot.
Gunner Walters – Point Guard – Mount Tabor
Gunner Walters is a familiar name that PrepHoops needs to see more of this high school season. Walters turned heads at this year’s PrepHoops Top 250 Expo and just missed the cut in this year’s rankings. He’s a gamechanger with his playmaking ability and will be a name to keep eyes on this season at Mount Tabor High School.
James Wilkins III – Point Guard – Calvary Day
James Wilkins III is another unknown name heading into the high school basketball season over at Calvary Day School. Wilkins is a competitor with his ability to create on all three levels off the dribble. On defense, he has the ability to impact the game with his on-ball pressure and solid awareness. He’s another name in the 2022 class to keep an eye on.
