2021 6’9 Julian Reese | St. Frances
Known as one of the top shot blockers in the loaded DMV region, Reese is set to be one of the main anchors on defense for St. France’s this season. Offensively, he finishes well around the rim and has the potential to make jumpers from the mid-range. Look for him to be a priority for high major schools on the east coast.
2021 6’6 Thomas Whitley | Eleanor Roosevelt
Whitley might not be heavily known because he did not play on a shoe circuit sponsored team this past summer but Whitley is a very talented 6’6 forward that can do about anything on both sides of the ball. He will play a pivotal role for ER this year where they should be one of the top public school teams in the state and wrote about that here.
2021 6’8 Nestor Dyachok | Bishop Walsh
Nestor will begin his first season at Bishop Walsh this year and is expected to be thrown into the fire right away for a team that has big expectations. Look for Nestor to be one of the main assets in the front-court for Bishop Walsh this season.
2021 6’5 Jared Billups | McDonogh
I believe Jared is on the cusp of having a major breakout season. My colleagues Adam Ayalew and Colby Giacubeno recently raved about him after his performance at the Maryland Top 250 and we expect that momentum to carry over into the season. Billups brings great size and a terrific motor to the court where you know you will get 100% out of him night in and night out.
2021 6’6 Daouda Dembele | Springbrook
To be perfectly honest, I have not seen Daouda as much as the other guys on this list but I liked what I saw from him this past summer at Capitol Hoops Summer League where he averaged 7.6 points per game, an impressive 11.7 rebounds per game and 3 blocks per game. I am excited to see more of Daouda this upcoming high school season.
