Malik Abdul Wahid has reached a major milestone in his climb up Wisconsin high school basketball's totem pole. The Brookfield Central small forward committed to Winona State on Sunday night. Abdul Wahid's commitment comes after he made the trip to Winona this past weekend.

"I bonded really well with the team," Abdul Wahid said. "They are really big on being a student first there and my main goal is to get a degree."

He continued to say, "I fit in perfectly with what they want to do. They offered me as a big wing player who can drive it to the hoop, but also shoot the ball when open and pass and give other guys good looks."

The SF was able to show his versatility while playing with Ray Allen Select over the summer. The list of things that Wahid struggles with on the court is starting to get smaller and smaller.

Perhaps no prospect improved over the summer as much as Abdul-Wahid did. His improvements were showcased during Wisconsin's Top 250 Expo. For his stellar performance, the 6-foot-7 prospect earned 2020 first-team honors.
