One word kept being tossed around throughout the event. That word was ‘ATHLETE’. There were highly skilled athletes all over the gym at Let’s Get Ready III
Let’s take a look at some of the athletic players we saw on Sunday:
Christopher Coleman (2022, 6’3, Carrollton)
Coleman was quick getting up and down the floor. His height and quickness in transition was a tough combo.
Jaylen Davison (2021, 6’3″, Walled Lake Central)
Davison looks so smooth on the basketball court. He has long strides, handles the ball well, and has good lateral movement.
Tristan Feighner (2021, 6’0″, Leslie)
Feighner showed a lot of promise as a player. His hand-eye coordination was outstanding and allowed him to make some pinpoint passes.
Jaylen Hodges (2021, 6’3″, Saginaw Bridgeport)
Hodges is the definition of an athlete. He runs faster, jumps higher, and moves quicker. He put himself on the radar for college coaches this season.
Jovante Jones-Buckner (2021, 6’2″, Carrollton)
Jones-Buckner was a highlight of the event. He used his athleticism to cause chaos on defense and to get to the rim on offense.
Freddie McIntosh (2020, 5’11, Saginaw)
McIntosh is a special prospect. His combination of start-stop speed and strength will make him a nightmare for opposing coaches.
Rodney Mitchell (2020, 6’6″, Saginaw Arts & Academy)
Mitchell is athletic enough to play outside-in or inside-out. He can square up to the rim and bulldog his way to the bucket.
Sheddrick Murrell (2022, 6’4″, Saginaw Arthur Hill)
Murrell was definitely impressive at Let’s Get Ready III. He has good straight line speed and uses it to get out in the open floor.
Cole Pardon (2021, 6’4″, Brandon)
Pardon is efficient and steady with his movement. He knows where he wants to be and gets there quickly. This puts Pardon in high percentage scoring situations.
Thaddeus Powell (2020, 6’5″, DEPSA)
Powell was a beast at Let’s Get Ready III. He showed so much diversity in his game, from blocking shots and dunking to handling the ball and hitting mid range jumpers.
Derrick Voltz (2022, 6’4″, Carrollton)
If you’re wondering why he’s an ‘athlete’ you have to watch him play. He’s comfortable anywhere on the floor and has great vertical and horizontal quickness.
Brady Titus (2022, 5’10”, Tri-Unity Christian)
I wasn’t able to see Titus due to a slight injury earlier in the day, but I just can’t leave him off the list. He’s a top 10-15 prospect in 2022 for a reason.
Izaia Williams (2020, 6’2″, Saginaw Arthur Hill)
My first question of the day on Sunday was why haven’t I written about this young man yet? There were extended periods at the camp in which Williams was the best player on the floor.
