Latest Fall Commitments Around The State Of Ohio
The past week or so is another testament to how big fall is for basketball recruiting. Players want to get their commitments out of the way before the high school starts up, so many do.
Theres instances where players need to wait longer, or they back out or current commitments. But, the fall is very important, even without much live basketball action. Take a look at who’s made the latest moves!
Recent Commitments:
John Hugley – Brush – Committed to Pittsburgh: Prep Hoops Ohio’s top ranked senior verbally committed to Pittsburgh a couple days ago. Heading to the ACC, a powerful conference Hugley will play some of the best college athletes on the hardwood. A big get for Pittsburgh, getting the most dominant big man in the state of Ohio.
Garvin Clarke – Cleveland Heights – committed to Akron: Clarke will be playing his senior season at a new home in Cleveland Heights, after transferring from Euclid. Clarke was solid this summer and showcased his athleticism often. A big get for the Zips, receiving a verbal from one of Ohio’s best.
Paul Burris – Delaware Hayes – Committed to Ashland: There’s two things I love about this commitment. This is a great landing spot for Burris. Also, Ashland keeps going after Central Ohio prospects, where you can’t go wrong. The seniors two way threat from the wing should translate strongly. A shooter that adds length to the game, what today’s game is all about.
Victor Searls – St. Charles – Committed to Ashland: I posted in a conference preview about how Searls was one of the more underrated in Central Ohio, well he found a great spot at a high Division ll school. Next level post moves and a soft touch had Ashland in on this one.
Javohn Garcia – Prep (Pickerington Central 2019) – Committed to UMASS: Garcia actually graduated this past year, but decided to attend a year of prep school at the powerhouse of Brewster Academy. Since then Garcia has been able to pick up some solid offers. UMASS was able to get his verbal commitment, a big get for them in my opinion. The school that former great Marcus Camby attended will be huge fans of Javohn’s game. Truly underrated prospect that absolutely killed the EYBL.
Luke Powell – Barnesville – Committed to West Liberty: West Liberty has been a Divison ll powerhouse for awhile and it’s because they know who to go out and get. Powell has that scoring ability that colleges covet. Scoring from a spot up or with the ball in his hands is in his bag. Solid with the Hidden Gems program, they send another off to college.
Gilbert Davis – Garfield Heights – Committed to Lincoln Trail
The question remains, who will be next?
