Latest College Commitments Ohio Has Seen
The fall continues to be a good time for basketball recruits. College coaches remain active and it has paid off for many.
The state has seen quite a few verbal commitments lately, as the class of 2020 is off and rolling. Here we take a look at the latest
Commitments:
Caleb Piks – Mentor – Committed to Lake Erie College: I was able to watch Caleb this summer and could definitely see why Division ll colleges were flocking for his commitment. Ultimately landing with Lake Erie College out of Painesville, Ohio, Piks found his spot. Piks will be a huge part of a good Mentor team this year as he can score the ball from all over. His size at the two translates well to the next level where he found a great fit it seems!
Simon Blair – South Central – Committed to Malone: I watched Simon Blair with his grassroots squad a few months ago and thought he was one of the smartest players on the court, and doesn’t let his size limit his game. Division ll Malone seen good things too, obviously. Another player found his spot in a system he will be able to buy into. Blair handles the rock well, scores off the bounce and sets up teammates. What you want in a point guard.
Khalil Davis – Princeton – Committed to Cumberlands: Khalil Davis is one of a multiple talented guards for Princeton. I’ve only been able to watch Davis once, but he’s a player that can finish at the hoop in a variety of ways. Talented with the ball his hands, it’s not hard to see why Shawnee State also offered. Davis is just one of the Princeton guards that will play next level for sure.
Max Land – Moeller – Committed to St. Francis (PA): Land had three Division l offers, and ultimately decided to go over a state to St. Francis. Moeller is always a powerhouse and in Land they have produced another college product. Land will be a vital part of their success as they are fresh off another state championship. With this commitment, Max can focus 100% on his senior season and getting back to Columbus.
Derek Eddings – LaSalle – committed to Thomas More University: Eddings is another point guard from Southern Ohio that is rather versatile. I like Eddings as one because he works well in the half-court, and can drop the pass where it’s needed. LaSalle doesn’t just send players to college in football, as Derek is heading to a NAIA school that loves to recruit Ohio.
Hunter Shedenhelm – Pickerington North – Committed to Ashland: The lengthy sing from Pickerington has been a high Division ll priority for some time now. Maybe the best shooter in his area, easy to see why Ashland was in hot pursuit. Offering early on it’s certain Ashland never gave up. Garnering his verbal commitment was a big get for the Eagles. Possibly one of the best Division ll priorities, Ashland went and received a good one.
Garrison Kesslar – Green – Committed to Walsh
