The Cavaliers remain undefeated
The Cavaliers remain the team to beat through three weeks of play in the J.D. Lewis Fall League after defeating the Nets and Suns by more 50 points in each victory. They are averaging 127.0 points per game as a team while allowing 73.8 points per game with their trio of 2021s Will Felton, Ben Hines and Will Otto leading the way. All three rank in the Top 5 scoring while Felton leads the league in rebounds per game (21.5) and Otto leads the league in assists per game (12.7).
Griffin Hines has a big day from 3-point range
2021 guard Griffin Hines had a big performance in Week 3 that lifted his Pacers squad to a much-needed victory over the Nets 105-95. Hines poured in 27 points on 7-of-9 shooting from behind the arc to give his team their third victory on the season. They lost 103-102 to the Celtics in the game prior as Hines made 6 of his 17 attempts from 3-point range to shoot 35.3 percent from the 3-point line. He’s shooting 47.5 percent from 3-point land and averaging 4.8 3-point makes per game through three weeks of fall league play.
Rockets upset the Spurs to give them their first loss
The Rockets got a close 72-68 victory over the Spurs to end their run at an undefeated regular season in Week 3. Thanks to a balanced scoring attack from the Rockets led by 2022 guard Evan Ashe (15 points) and a double-double from Ayinde Taylor II (12 points, 11 rebounds), the Rockets showed that strength in numbers typically yields positive results in the win-loss column. Five players scored in double-figures for the Rockets as they moved to 4-2 in the standings with a marquee win over a tough Spurs squad.
Warriors get two strong victories
After entering Week 3 with a record of 1-3, the Warriors walked away with a .500 record at 3-3 with two wins over the Nuggets and Celtics. 2021s Stefon McLeod and B.J. Keith have been a formidable duo for their squad as McLeod posted 26 points and seven rebounds in an 84-75 victory over the Celtics. In their 86-67 victory over the Nuggets, Keith posted 22 points, six assists and five steals. The duo has looked to right the ship halfway through the fall season and should look to continue that heading into Week 4.
The Suns remain winless
The Suns are still searching for their first victory in fall league play as they’re currently 0-6 in the standings. They’re a young squad that’s still finding their way through three weeks of play. They came close to a victory back in Week 2, falling to the Nets 95-90 but they’re still in search of their first victory with three games remaining on the schedule before the playoffs begin.
