Jace Whiting
Only 6’1” Jace gets his boards on hustle, smarts and timing. He is easily one of the best rebounding guards in the state. Jace doesn’t shy away from contact and he considers every missed shot his even while defending the perimeter. Last year, Jace averaged a solid 9 rebounds per game and looks to improve in his senior year.
Ben Sickler
Ben averages a whopping 8.8 boards per game and does it with effort on both ends. As one would expect, his defensive rebounds outnumber his offensive, but his offensive rebounding is what vaulted him into this position as potential top rebounder. He is more of a technician than physical freak who uses his lower body strength to establish position and fend off competitors.
Evan Walker
Evan is a thick 6’2” and is difficult to move. HE averages 8.7 rebounds a game and the young junior is primed to use his strength, potential physical growth and maturity to vie for this year’s rebounding title. Even is opportunistic as he seeks offensive boards where he can easily convert them into scoring opportunities.
Paul Yenor
Paul is the opposite of Evan in that the 6’2” Yenor uses his almost impossible quickness and lack of girth to wend into lanes and grab carroms. He pulled down an impressive 8.1 rebounds a game even while weighing just over a buck fifty.
Steve Rodriguez
Steve is neither physically dominant nor athletically overwhelming, but he works hard and pulls down a solid 7.6 boards a game. Improved conditioning and physical maturity could help Steve be more consistent as he was feast or famine rebounder.
The Wild Card
Brody Rowbury
Brody is growing into his 6’8” body and once he does, he could become a monster on the boards. He towers over his counterparts, but must develop more aggression and a better understanding of his physical gifts to fend off smaller, more aggressive rebounders.
