Ben Sickler
Ben is a certain frontrunner for defensive play of the year among Idaho prep hoops starts. He is a top rebounder and averages 2.3 blocks per game as well. With a half of a steal per game average, Ben fills all of the defensive stat categories.
Evan Walker
Evan Walker of Twin Falls Christian Academy fills the paint with his large body and his rebounding numbers make sense. More surprising, however, is his shot blocking prowess. At 6’2” Evan swats a shot and a half per game and he appeared to get stronger as the season wore on. Look for him to make a jump in 2020.
Kolten LeFleur
Kolten LeFleur of Garden Valley High School is a 6’3” pogostick who gets his hands 1.4 blocks per game. As a junior, he has room to grow and should continue to intimidate in the paint.
Covy Kelly
As a sophomore Covy Kelly was a captain and his overall play shows why. It’s easy to get blinded by Covy’s scoring ability, but he is a menace on defense as well, blocking 1.3 shots a game with his 6’0” presence.
Townsen Tripple
Senior Townsen Tripple truly belongs on this list. The question is simply, why isn’t he higher on it? Townsen is 6’7” with long arms and good range. Perhaps his numbers, 1.3 blocks per game, are lower due to the fact that he isn’t challenged as often due to his length.
