K.J. Lee 6’6″ Fort Zumwalt North: The long and lanky guard is really coming into his own as he is fast emerging into one of the top prospects in the class. His jumper from 3-point range is butter as he knocked down nine triples in a victory over Parkway South. His form and release on his shot are fundamentally sound and his range is almost limitless. He is also showing more confidence in his ability to make plays off the dribble as a scorer and passer.
Demarion Shanklin 6’2″ Jennings: The smooth lefty combo guard was getting buckets from just about anywhere on the court on Sunday. He displayed the ability to score at all three levels without ever trying to force the issue. His game is built around the mid-range game off the bounce, but he can also get to the rim and score in the lane while also creating his own space to knock down 3-pointers. He is primed for a big year offensively.
Keashon Petty 5’9″ Parkway North: The talented point guard displayed some electric quickness as he consistently got to the basket and scored at the rim through traffic. He really excelled in the open court as he pushed the pace on offense and created turnovers on defense. He also beat double teams with his handles and speed and found his way to the basket to score.
Anthony Lewis 6’1″ St. Dominic: The thick-bodied wing player was one of the top 3-point shooters in the fall league. He has a quick release and he can also come off screens ready to shoot with a feathery shot from long distance. He is also starting to diversify his game to add to his long range shooting. He got a couple of buckets going to the basket and he also had a nice rip-through for a mid-range jumper. Those additions are big for his game.
Brandon Ming 6’3″ University City: An athletic and versatile wing player who has the ability to score in a variety of ways. He is an impressive offensive rebounder with a quick jump and good instincts around the basket. He attacks the basket well and he is also very good in the transition game. He seemed to be always around the ball.
Brendan Deters 6’2″ St. Dominic: An excellent young point guard who transferred over from Troy and will be a big addition to the Crusaders’ team. He is a pass-first point guard with slick handles and the ability to facilitate the offense. He is also a capable scoring threat with 3-point range and the ability to create his own shot off the dribble.
George Prouhet 6’1″ Fort Zumwalt North: A very solid role player who caught my eye with his ability to make all kinds of hustle plays with his athleticism and high motor. He is an explosive leaper and he displayed it with a couple of nice offensive rebounders and a few blocked shots against players who were much taller. He was getting loose balls and being a factor defensively. He’s the player who can make plays without ever having to command the basketball.
