Jalen Hampton 6’5″ University City: The bouncy combo forward was active and dominant in the Lions’ two victories on the day. He was explosive around the rim with his ability to throw down slam dunks and corral offensive rebounds. He was tough to stop off the dribble, which makes him a matchup problem against opposing forwards with his quickness and ball handling ability. He is also a dangerous player in the transition game.
Michael Henneberry 6’6″ Lafayette: An up and coming combo forward with excellent size and length, which he utilizes well on the top of a half-court zone trap defense. He is a solid athlete who does a nice job attacking the basket and finishing at the rim. He is very mobile and his skill set is developing. He has a big upside and will continue to get better.
Logan Wich 6’7″ Parkway West: A solid post player with good size and strong body. He can play a physical game, but also combine it with a little finesse. He has a nice shooting touch inside the lane or he can step put and knock down a 15 footer off the catch. He also threw down a few power dunks in traffic.
Lance Hackney 6’6″ Lutheran St. Charles: A big bodied power forward who plays a more traditional low post game in the paint. He has good footwork and can wheel and deal in either direction to get buckets in the post. He has a very effective jump hook and a good turnaround jumper. He is also very good at scoring with both hands around the bucket.
Jalen Craig 6’4″ Jennings: A long and athletic forward who played the game with a lot of activity on both ends. He has good bounce, which came in handy on the offensive boards. He is a solid ball handler who also runs the court well in the transition game.
