If candy was equated to basketball talent, there’d be some players with very big bags full of treats. We’re going to look at some players that have ‘A Whole Bag Of Candy”.
Ben Canty (2022, 6’5″, SF, Salem)
Canty is an elite talent. He keeps a solid and balanced base on his jumper and has range extending past the 3 point line. Canty uses his size and athleticism to attack the basket, where he’s a nasty finisher at the rim.
Tharren Hill (2022, 5’11”, G, Detroit Pershing)
Hill has his bag full, possessing a well rounded perimeter game. He’s a true 3 level scorer that recognizes high percentage opportunities. Hill can handle the ball with either hand and is a plus defender.
Kyler Vanderjagt (2022, 6’3″, G/F, Northview)
Vanderjagt might need a wheelbarrow to carry his bag of candy. The young man is a special all around athlete. Vanderjagt posesses the ability to create his own look at the rim at an any time. He’s bigger, faster, and stronger than most of his competition.
Lucas Henderson (2021, 5’10”, PG, Ypsilanti)
Henderson has all the tools necessary to be great. He’s lightning quick up the court with the ball in his hands. Henderson can beat the defense back with his straight line speed and pick up quick buckets. He’s an excellent ball handler and a solid passer.
Brandon Hunt (2021, 6’7″, F, Williamston)
Hunt has a wide array of candy in his bag. The Williamston star is as versatile as they come. He can guard multiple positions in high school, and that skill should transfer to the next level. Hunt can play facing the rim or back to the basket, and has a nice mid range game to go with it.
Keyon Menifield (2021, 5’10”, PG, Flint Beecher)
Menifield is just flat out nasty with the ball. He’s one of the players with the quickest horizontal speed in Michigan. Menifield uses his hip movement and quick crossover to put defenders on the floor.
Reece Hazelton (2020, 6’7″, G/F, Glen Lake)
Hazelton, without a doubt, has a full bag of candy. He’s a matchup nightmare for his opponents. Hazelton can play inside-out or outside-in, completely depending on his matchup. On the defensive end, he can easily guard multiple positions.
Jamoni Jones (2020, 6’1″, PG, East Kentwood)
Jones is simply elite with the ball in his hands. He has great start-stop speed which always makes him a threat with the ball. Jones can handle the rock, almost making it disappear in front of the defender. Jones is a strong athlete that can play through contact.
Sir’Real Smith (2020, G, Saginaw)
Smith has plenty of candy in his bag. He’s the definition of a bucket getter. Smith has the combination of aggressiveness and creativity that makes him unpredictable and tough to cover. He has greatly improved his ball handling and passing and is quickly developing into a potential combo guard.
