Here in Nevada we get basketball season kicked off with a special tournament known as Halloween Hoops. The annual event is in it’s 9th year and it is hosted one week before tryouts. Festivities kick off October 24-27. The event is capped off with a valley wide All-Star game which features some of Las Vegas’ best and brightest. The team’s are picked NBA All- Star draft style. I have already featured Team Brewer. Here’s a look at their opponents Team Keefer.
Amauri James- Spring Valley
AZ Johnson-Faith Lutheran
Cam Kimble-Clark
Donovan Yap-Arbor View
Feelix Reeves Jr.-Coronado
Glenn Taylor Jr.-Cheyenne
Jaden Hardy- Coronado
Jalon Lee- Arbor View
Kade Madsen-Palo Verde
Keshawn Gilbert-Durango
Kobe Strougher-Liberty
Martell Williams-Silverado

Zaon Collins-Bishop Gormon
Noah Taitz-Bishop Gormon
With this being an All-Star game labeling anyone a “stand-out” will be hard because all of these young men possess elite skill sets.I mean they’re All-Stars right? Here are some of the young men on Team Keefer that will benefit greatly from a strong showing.
Azavier Johnson 6’4 Faith Lutheran SF 2021 – Johnson in my opinion will benefit the most being on team Keefer. He is poised to be one of the biggest standout player’s this season. He has worked as hard as anybody this Summer hitting the weight room. He also worked with PG Dashien Nix, as we all know iron sharpens iron. Johnson’s strength and versatility on both ends of the floor makes him an under the radar prospect. A strong showing among Vegas’s elite will show him that all his hard work and learning has not only paid off but will continue to payoff.
Kobe Stroughter Liberty 6’1 SG 2020 – He has a strong game. He has a quick release. He is a lefty with a hard shot to block. He provides strong ball-handling capability and a natural outside shooting stroke. Stroughter is also a quick separation guard. What I like the most about him is playing with Julian Strawther the majority of his career. He has shown the ability to be a great secondary player. In a showcase game with other great talents sometimes the most unselfish player can stand out the most.
Amauri James Spring Valley 6’3 SG 2020 – James is a an underrated prospect. He is one of the bigger bodied guards you’ll see in the valley. He uses that thick body to be a physical combo guard. He can finish with contact around the basket. He shoots it well and gets to the bucket when he feels like it. He is Spring Valley’s leading returning scorer. A showcase game of this magnitude can give him confidence going into the season.
Cameron Kimble Clark 6’4 SG 2021- If HS basketball had a breakout player award Kimble would be the front runner in my opinion. He has championship prowess being a member of a 4A state runner up team. He will be the lead catalyst of a team that lost 8 seniors. That will give Kimble an opportunity to shine. He’s a big quick guard meaning he can get to the basket with ease. He is a strong leader even for his age. A strong All-Star appearance will really set the tone not just for himself but the outlook of his team being the lead guy for Clark this year.
