Kevon Ferguson 6’1 PG Desert Valley Prep 2020 – Why does it seem like lefties shots always look better? Ferguson is a perfect example. He has a smooth textbook stroke. He knocked down shots from 3, and showed a nice mid – range pull up game. Ferguson keeps his elbow in tight and uses no wasted motion. Shot looks the same in catch and shoot action, and off the bounce. Was probably the best overall player on the day.
Robert Sherman 6’0 SG Centennial 2020 – Starting to realize that any list of top shooters in the state should include Sherman. He has been shooting it with confidence for the last few months. Sherman has an interesting shot. He kind of hops into it, however he has a quick release and solid mechanics. Sherman was at his best in catch and shoot situations on Saturday.
Martell Williams 6’1 SG Silverado 2020 – Williams gets unfairly labeled because of his size and build. Many view him as an undersized athletic forward. However doing this overlooks the fact that he can flat out shoot it. He has beautiful form, and a consistent release. He made most of his 3’s on the day from straight on. His athleticism is actually a huge benefit, as it helps him get terrific lift on his shot.
Miles Mitchell 5’11 SG Cimarron 2022 – Mitchell is a nice looking prospect in the class of 2022. His mechanics aren’t traditional, however he shoots it the same way every time. He knocked down several corner 3’s for the Spartans in their game against Legacy.
Carbon Dagons 6’4 PF Legacy 2022 – Speaking of Legacy they have their own intriguing prospect. Dagons is a 6’4 forward capable of shooting the lights out. Stretch player that is excellent in catch in shoot situations. Dagons showed his ability to knock down 3’s from all parts of the floor on Saturday. Natural shooter with a consistent release. His thing is consistency and confidence. When he shoots with those two, he becomes a dangerous weapon.
