Laney HS 2020 Forward Demarcus McLaurin: You have to love the fact that he can play inside and outside of the paint. He has frame that looks like he could add some muscle on to so once he gets to the next level, he will be that much more dominant in the paint. Outside shooting was where he really impressed as he has a smooth shooting stroke and shot a high percentage.
Village Christian 2020 Wing Josh Reid: He will be a much needed addition to the VCA squad this year as he brings some skills and size for a player that can play the SF and PF spots. He displayed the ability to beat players off the dribble as well as knock down the outside shots on a pretty regular basis. His recruitment has been pretty quiet so far but from what we have seen, he should see a rise in his recruitment sooner than later.
Rolesville HS 2020 Forward Brandon Johnson: A player with legit size at 6’7 and soft touch around the basket who will only get better over time. We saw him put together some impressive performances during the Triangle Challenge summer league and when he’s aggressive, he’s a hard player to defend.
Kinston HS 2020 Forward Jaquan Mosley: He’s one of the players that we feel helped his stock in a nice way due to how well he played and his upside. He was constantly working on the boards, providing extra possessions for his team and scoring the ball at an efficient level when he got the opportunity.
Cape Fear Christian 2020 Forward Jeremyah McWilliams: He’s come a long way in the short amount of time that we have been watching him and he still has plenty of upside left in his game. He understands how to use his height and length to block/contest shots as well as rebounding at a high rate. Offensively he showed some flashes of what he could do in the paint as well as showing some outside shooting ability.
Purnell Swett 2020 Forward Xavier Jones: If you take a look at some of the numbers that he put up during his junior season, you can easily see how dominant of a force he can be on the boards and that’s exactly what we saw at camp. He was constantly battling for rebounds, even though he was not the tallest player by any means, his strength and motor allows him to come up with a high amount of loose balls.
