1. Wy’Kise Allen sweeps the Camp Awards
Wy’Kise Allen took home the 3-Point Shootout Contest award and the Camp MVP award before it was all said and done at the Fab40 Camp. Allen showed off his abilities in a number of ways this past Saturday, making 10-of-12 3-pointers in the shootout and showing off his guard skills with the ball in his hands during the showcase games. He put up 14 points and six rebounds in the championship game over Blue Chips in a 68-65 victory as well.
2. Dontrez Styles is more than a power forward
Dontrez Styles put everybody in attendance on notice that he can pretty much score from wherever he wants on the floor. Styles got off to a slow start in the first game of the day but by the end of the day, he was a walking double-double. He showed off his ability to handle the ball and finish at the rim as he did on multiple occasions. It’s hard to imagine him not getting more high-major looks as the season approaches.
3. 3-point Shooters were all positions
The 3-point shooters weren’t restricted to just the guard position at the Fab40 Camp. The big men showed their versatility by stretching the floor and knocking down 3-pointers too. Trey Pittman showed off his range as did DeMarcus McLaurin, two prospects that can score it inside and out. Pittman and McLaurin were one of a couple big men that could stroke it from behind the arc. Jeremyah McWilliams was another prospect that showed off his range. Shooting from the perimeter isn’t restricted to just guard prospects anymore.
