Darnell Washington 6’8 PF/TE Desert Pines 2020 – Any list of top athletes in Nevada begins with Washington. In basketball he returns as the state’s leading rebounder. A physical presence for a Desert Pines team with Championship aspirations. On the Football Field he is one of the best tight ends in the nation, and a coveted recruit with offers from every major program.
Elijah Jackson 6’0 PG/QB Churchill 2020 – It may be redundant, but Jackson is a terrific athlete. On the basketball court he is the heart and soul of the defending 3A state champs. Oh by the way, a Championship game that he won with a buzzer beating jumper. On the football field he’s an electrifying dual threat QB receiving interest from Idaho, Idaho St, and Nevada.
Frank Bartley 6’0 SF/QB Spring Valley 2021 – Bartley is a scrappy wing player for Spring Valley. He’s a good defender, solid ballhandler and shot creator. On the football field he’s a dual threat QB who has already accounted for 7 Touchdowns this season.
Brady Joiner 6’5 PF/P Shadow Ridge 2020 – Joiner is a big, strong, high jumping athlete. He protects the rim and provides tough interior defense. On the baseball diamond he’s a dominant pitcher and outfielder that has interest from several D1 schools.
Francisco Carmona 6’5 PF/TE Las Vegas 2021 – Carmona doubles as a powerful post enforcer for the basketball team, and a bruising blocking tight end on the football team. As a sophomore he is the leading returning rebounder on the team. This season he is averaging over 14 receiving yards per game.
Matthew Morton 6’5 PF/TE Boulder City 2021 – Morton is one of the most skilled athletes in the state. He plays all 5 positions for the basketball team. He joins fellow Junior Ethan Speaker to form one of the top 3A duos in the state. On the football team he’s a big tight end that’s averaged over 22 yards per catch this season.
Aaron Holloway 5’11 PG/WR Legacy 2021 – I was recently at a Legacy practice, and coach Jack Tarango made a point to introduce me to Aaron Holloway. He told me he would be one of the key contributors once the football season ended. At this rate, I hope he has something left. Holloway is having a dominant season as one of the best receivers in the state. To date he has 33 receptions for nearly 800 yards good for 3rd in the state. On the hardwood he is a perimeter defensive specialist that averaged nearly 5 per game last season as a sophomore.
Brock Richardson 5’8 PG/RB Churchill 2020 – Richardson plays Robin to Jackson’s Batman at Churchill. If his stats this season are any indication, he does it quite well. He currently leads the Greenwave in rushing, receiving and total touchdowns. For the basketball squad he is a defensive minded guard that averaged nearly 2 steals per game last season.
Chase Nelson 6’1 SG/WR Galena 2020 – Nelson is another wide receiver turned basketball contributor. He has caught 20 passes this season for Galena, scoring 3 touchdowns in the process. Last season he contributed in 19 games for the basketball team.
Keagan Tharp 6’3 SF/QB Coronado 2020 – Tharp is one of the top QB’s in Las Vegas. When he’s not eluding defenders or throwing Touchdowns, he’s banging bodies in the paint for Coronado.
Moliki Matavao 6’6 C/TE Liberty 2021 – Matavao is another big time pass catcher, literally. At 6’6 240 he is a force on both the football field and the basketball court. Much like Washington, Matavao is one of the top tight ends in his class. Rated as a 4 star recruit by rivals, he currently has offers from schools such as Alabama, Arizona, and Arizona St.
