Players went at it in front of college coaches and brought some of their best stuff. Here are the out of state ballers who came to play.
Zachary Mascarenas—Cibola
Mascerenas is a player that I will surely never forget as the last time he was down for a showcase he put up close to 50 points – in a showcase!! He is not afraid to shoot the ball and he shots it confidently. He also created for himself off of the dribble and gets to the paint. He rebounded from the guard spot, has good ball handling and is a situational player that I would put in as a microwave player to get things started.
Xavier McCord – Cheyenne Mountain
Xavier was the McCord brother with flash. He is very comfortable with the ball in his hands as a playmaker, slashes on offense, knocked down jump shots and is a very confident scorer. He shot the ball well for the event and was very dangerous in the open court where he had the highlight play of the entire event with a backwards flush dunk for good measure, He has good size and is a player that a school would love to build around. He’s good.
Demetrius McCord – Cheyenne Mountain
Demetrius was the McCord brother that played within the system. He does not make many mistakes, moves well without the ball, showed off fluid motion in his jump shot and also was a high IQ hustle player.
Quincy Wofford – Campbell County
Wofford stood out as a traditional big man with size that did all the things well that a big does. He grabbed rebounds, defended the paint and also was aggressive offensively as he went right back up. He set solid screens and made the right plays when he got the ball while not forcing much.
