Players went at it in front of college coaches and brought some of their best stuff. Here are the big men who stood out most.
Nahsyah Bolar—Northfield
Bolar is a player that plenty of people were asking about at the event. He is big, he is strong and he also is very athletic. He got his college ready body to his spots and either finished at the rim or got fouled but he stayed aggressive. There was a point that he had back-to-back dunks and raised a few eyebrows. He’s good.
Isaac Tesfaye – Cherokee Trail
Tesfaye was maybe the biggest player at the event and he played like it. He ran the floor, he rebounded in bunches and went straight up with the ball after securing boards for easy baskets. He had a few back to the basket finishes and what I really enjoyed was his gravity,. He moves without the ball, sets screens and gets to spots he knows he can score in and he also protected the paint. Great event for him.
Shawn Temple—Douglas County
Temple was the tallest player at the event as he used his 6’8 frame to go inside and dominate. He finished through contact, showed he had a bit of a back to the basket game and he also patrolled the paint for a few blocks. He is new on the radar but is a junior worth keeping an eye on.
Aaron Jacob – Chaparral
Jacob did a few of the things that he typically does. Rebound in bunches, great outlet passer, does not force many shots and also attacks mismatches. Due to his size he was not able to spend much time on the wing and knock down shots which he is used to so he got inside and worked with the big boys. Jacob has solid hand-eye coordination and also timing so he knows where the rebounds are going to be. He’s a big man that can put the ball on the floor and also create for his own. Excited for the year that’s to come.
Ryker Cisarik—Highlands Ranch
Cisarik was a part of one of the taller teams at the event and with that size meant he had to go inside and battle. What made him different from the other bigs at the event is his versatility. He is used to being on the wing so he took those strengths and combined it with having to play as a big. He shot lights out when he had the chance, spacing the floor. He got back on defense, soared for rebounds and also was able to catch some very tough passes from Kobe Sanders which is no easy feat. Based on what I seen at the event I will surely be checking him out this year to see what he is all about.
