Antonio “Spoodie” Kite, 6’1 CG, Anniston: Spoodie is an explosive athlete that has high-major written all over him. He is the prototypical new-age lead guard with his ability to score at a high rate all while controlling the pace and getting his teammates involved. He has elite range and won’t hesitate to put you on a poster if given the opportunity. He already holds offers from several SEC programs.
Jacri Lane, 5’11 PG, Lee (Huntsville): This crafty and tough point guard seems to truly have the ball on a string. His ability to break defenders down off the dribble is a sight to see. He finishes very well at the rim despite not being the biggest or most athletic player on the floor. His no-nonsense approach is impressive to see from such a young player. Expect his name to shoot up recruitment boards as the season gets going.
Tyrese Elliott, 6’1 CG, Sparkman: Recognized as the 2nd best player in the state in this class and once you see him play you will quickly see why. His strong body for his age is very impressive and he uses it well as he is able to overpower most guards in the class. He has very good athletic ability which allows him to finish over and through bigger defenders at the rim. His vision and passing ability is highly underrated and will only improve as he plays more basketball. He currently holds offers from Alabama, UAB, and Auburn.
Calen Lightford, 5’9 PG, Sparkman: He may be slight of build right now, but his game is as strong as Lou Ferrigno (that’s the original Incredible Hulk for you young cat’s). He has a quick first step that is virtually unguardable from any defender one-on-one. He shoots it well with range, but a commitment to the weight room will work wonders for him to stretch that range out even further. He picked up his first D1 offer from Detroit Mercy over the summer, but it will definitely not be his last.
Knute Wood, 6’3 SG, Brooks: A sharpe shooter is the best way to describe this prospect. Don’t sleep on his ball-handling and passing ability as he possesses a great feel for the game. When you watch him play its hard to believe he is only entering his sophomore season. Look for him to put up huge numbers this season for the Lions.
