Westminster Academy has a new look and some young talent is currently in place.

After winning its third consecutive Class 4A title (a 77-73 win over Seffner Christian) behind 2019 graduates and current college freshmen guards Chase Johnston (Purdue Fort Wayne) and Sam Griffin (Texas Arlington) and 2019 big men Jason Strong (Northeastern) and Tony Atkinson (Navy), the team is less experienced but filled with a lot of promise still.

Joining the now Class 3A powerhouse Westminster Academy is 6'5", 180-pound guard Kaleb Walters from Miramar (the No. 24 ranked player in our 2022 Florida Rankings). He got his feet wet as a freshman in a season that he called "pretty good." However, the move over to Westminster Academy for Walters was important.

"I had a long talk with my parents and my travel team coaches, we decided that I should find a school where I will be able to display my full game and everything I can bring to the table," Walters told Prep Hoops. "This year I’m looking forward to going out, making a name for myself and competing to bring Westminster another state championship."
