They’re “Underrated,” though because they don’t have a Division I offer and are currently not verbally committed to a college program.
Let’s get back to the scoring part now:
Gbolahan Adio (2020) | 6-4 SG | Richmond Heights
Adio not only scores with volume (16.8 PPG last season) but also with efficiency. He can hit open shots with range. Scores at the rim off the dribble-drive and in transition. Displays athleticism and length when going up in traffic. Adio doesn’t force the issue, though, as he uses his scoring ability to open up shots for others on the drive-and-kick.
Michael Bova (2022) | 6-0 PG | St. Edward
Bova is likely a year away from being a primary scoring option at Ed’s. In the summer, though, the sophomore dominated stretches of games with his at-rim finishing ability and power. Complements his ambidextrous layup package with a consistent pull-up jumper in the mid-range. Possesses a physical advantage, including blow-by speed, that allows him to get anywhere on the court.
Marlon Landingham (2020) | 6-2 G | Rhodes
Physical guard who makes good decisions and can shoot it. Landingham creates high-percentage look for himself and others when he puts it on the floor. Very effective when driving in a straight line after ripping through or attacking a close-out. Shoots it well off the catch.
Christian Parker (2020) | 6-5 PF | GlenOak
In the halfcourt, Parker is dynamic after setting a ball screen. Able to catch and make a play after popping or rolling. Displays ball skills when he puts it on the floor from the perimeter. He’s comfortable shooting after one dribble. Active rebounder who scores on put-backs, too. Parker is also a severe threat in transition because of his speed.
Cooper Parrott (2020) | 6-3 SG | Willard
Parrott can size up perimeter defenders and make a play efficiently. His range extends to the collegiate 3-point line already. Quick release on his jumper. Combines ball-handling ability with a strong frame and quickness to get to his spots. Crafty footwork when he picks up his dribble in the paint.
Carson Ryan (2020) | 6-4 SG | Struthers
Skilled 3-level scorer with a strong body and athleticism. Ryan plays with balance in the lane on two-foot finishes, both on the run and after a jump stop. Capable shooter, although he likes to get to the cup. He averaged 16 points per game last season and recently received a Fairmont State offer.
Shammah Scott (2020) | 6-2 SG | Shaker Heights
Scott’s specialty is multi-dribble moves that end in a mid-range jumper or layup. Able to carve up defenders with his shifty side-to-side moves and step-backs. Very comfortable shooting off the bounce. Fairmont state offered.
Stefan Stanic (2021) | 6-5 SF | Normandy
Stanic handles the ball with pace and has a physical frame. His changes of speed allow him to get to his spots and finish high-percentage shots at the rim. Athletic prospect with an impressive motor. Besides scoring in the paint in a number of ways, he’s very comfortable shooting in the mid-range. His stroke is promising and will likely extend to the arch eventually.
Chase Toppin (2020) | 6-1 G | St. Ignatius
Toppin uses speed and a low center of gravity to get into the paint as a slasher. He drops in layups from challenging launch points, often doing so at full-speed with body control. Also poses a shooting threat if he’s given too much space. Likes to beat defenders up the court when he catches it in the backcourt and sees a transition opportunity.
Jalen Wenger (2022) | 6-4 SG | Dalton
Wenger is a skilled scorer with promising size. He creates space with few dribbles and can shoot it under duress and in motion. Terrific shooter. Causes mismatches with his size on the perimeter. Capable of getting all the way to the cup for a strong finish. Averaged an impressive 16.7 points as a freshman.
