Here were the standouts from the 2023 class:
Ky Green SF 6’5 Dream City Christian
-Uber athletic wing does many things well. He is a stud on the break and can flush it down above the rim. He runs really well in the open court like his older brother Josh Green. He seems to be more of a wing currently then a guard but can handle the ball and shoot the 3pt shot. He is a good rebounder in his area and quick laterally. Once he develops more of a skill set, he will jump up to another level.
Cody Williams PG 6’2 Perry
-Another top freshman had a great weekend. The younger bro of Jalen Williams (Santa Clara) can shoot it like him. He is actually probably more advanced at the same stage and a little taller as a freshman. He has deep range, he is very poised and confident plus makes good decisions with the ball. It wouldn’t shock me to see him on varsity already.
Williams looks to be one of the better guards in the class.Landon Schumaker PF 6’6 Basha
-Highly skilled and effective forward. He is versatile to shoot it from the perimeter plus rip through and score through contact. Once he is in the post, he can go to work with his advanced post footwork. He is a very good passer for a forward and has a high IQ.
Seydou Tamboura PF 6’6 Liberty
-Athletic forward has a lot of upside. He is a true rim runner playing above the rim and can shoot it to the 3pt line with some success. He rebounds at a high level and will play in space. He can improve his overall skill level but has a bright future.
Vince Delano CG 5’9 St. Mary’s
-One of my favorite combo guards that I have seen so far from the class. Besides his pretty looking jumper he thinks the game and never rushes or plays out of character. His stroke looks good every attempt and he is very consistent with it. He has a good burst to get into the lane. When he pushes out more height, watch out.
2024 (8th grade)
Preston Lee CG 6’0 Aprenda MS
-Only in 8th grade but he was a dog vs older players. He has an elite motor that bothered even the seniors on defense. He made the top-40 game and completely held his own. He can get downhill with his thicker build plus he can shoot it from the perimeter.
