St. Thomas Episcopal High School went 1-1 in the first session of the day. I didn’t get to stay and watch their final game. Ever since the first time I saw them all back together they seem to be playing better as a unit with the 7 players that they have on the team. Here are some of their prospects who stood out in the games.
Jakobe Flores 5’7 PG ~ 2021 ~ St. Thomas Episcopal
Jakobe wasn’t his normal shooting self on the day, but he picked it up on the defensive side of the ball. The day before at a different event he was lights out, but everyone has there off days. He was still a factor as he drew a box-1 for one half of the second game that he played.

Alex Vatrachki 6’8 C ~ 2021 ~ St. Thomas Episcopal
Alex was more dominant in the second game than the first. The speed of the first game was a little too much for the big, but he still was a force on the glass. In the second game, he showcased his soft hands and nice touch around the basket. He was a force defensively in the paint as he swatted away multiple shots and altered several.

Tyler Thomas 5’10 G ~ 2021 ~ St. Thomas Episcopal
Tyler is a quick guard who plays with a ton of energy that never seems to die down. He is super energized on the defensive side of the ball. He is a lockdown defender with quick hands and quick lateral movement. He forced a ton of turnovers in the game. Once he learns how to control the tempo offensively will tremendously help out this prospect on the offensive side of the ball.

Spring Dekaney High School is a UIL 6A-II District 16 affiliate. Played very solid in the two games that I saw them play. Last year team went 4-17 overall. They are returning a lot of key players from last season. The Wildcats played as a unit, they played like a very well oiled machine. They are very athletic and physical and will beat a lot of teams this year and may even be the sleeper in their district as they look to bounce back big-time from last season.
David Cattell 6’2 G ~ 2020 ~ Spring Dekaney HS
David has really been playing well during the Fall Ball Season. He has been attacking the rim with aggression. Has a tight handle on the ball and has been very crafty with the ball in his hands. Acrobatic finishes around the rim. His game has been looking really smooth and has been playing with a point to prove. He also received an offer from the University of St. Thomas after he played his final game.

Lamont Lawrence 5’8 PG ~ 2021 ~ Spring Dekaney HS
High energy player who made a lot of good decisions with the ball in his hands especially in the second game they played. He was rebounding the ball very well defensively in the second game, by boxing out on almost every possession. He also got after it defensively and was active on the floor.

Devion Medlow 6’4 F ~ 2020 ~ Spring Dekaney HS
A sleeper on the court. I’ve never seen players lose a guy as much as teams were losing him. He also was able to take a couple of opponents off the dribble to the rim. Rebound the ball very well in the second game. Solid on-ball defender as he was able to keep his opponent in front of him on multiple possessions and altered shots by closing out with his long wingspan.
