St. Thomas Episcopal High School went 0-3 at the second session of the day and shot a total of 81 three-pointers as a team. They have a very small backcourt for there starting line up at 5’7″, 5’8″, and 5’10”. They only have 7 players on their roster as well. They play in TAPPS 4A District 6. Here are there two prospects who stood out the most at the event.
Jakobe Flores 5’7 PG ~ 2021 ~ St. Thomas Episcopal (as seen in the picture)
This small point guard has a nice frame on him. He was out dropping dimes for his teammates but most couldn’t handle to heat from the pass. He is a big-time shooter from deep with NBA range as he knocked down 21 trey balls in three games. He was able to keep his opponent in front of him with good lateral movement.

Alex Vatrachki 6’8 C ~ 2021 ~ St. Thomas Episcopal
Alex has improved his game tremendously since last season. He rim ran the whole entire game. Showed his improved skill set in the post with dipping shoulders and solid footwork. Had multiple plus one buckets. He even showed a face-up game from the high post. Solid on the defensive side of the ball as well as he blocked multiple shots and had quick active hands to come away with some steals. Alex rebounded the ball very well also with his strong frame.

Nederland High School a UIL 5A-III District 21. Played very solid in the two games that I saw them play. Last year team went 17-14 overall and finished third in their District at 7-5 overall. They loss in the first round of the playoffs. As they are returning the entire team from last season with the loss of only two seniors, they bring back two of their top scorers. As a unit, they played very well, in their second game it was too much athleticism on the floor for them to handle.
Hayden Hefner 6’5 SG ~ 2020 ~ Nederland HS [Texas A&M] PHTX150
Hayden showed flashes of why he is a power 5 commit. He had a couple of bodies also as he rose up on defenders. He is a known outside threat but his shot wasn’t falling so he was scoring off the dribble from the mid-range and getting to the rim. He also played some tough hard nose defense as well.

Tyler Jackson 6’5 SF ~ 2021 ~ Nederland HS
High energy player who rim ran and finished at a high rate around the rim. He was also taking his opponent to the cup from the wing. Jackson has a smooth feel for the game. He was a fresh face for me to see and evaluate his game. Tyler has a slender frame but absorbs contact well. He was all over the glass as well of playing good defense both down low and on the perimeter.

Joseph Gipson 6’0 PG ~ 2021 ~ Nederland HS
He was another fresh face for me to see. Played very poised in the half-court set. Has good dribble combo moves with ball speed. His craftiness allowed him to penetrate the lane. He will be a key piece in their success this year.
