Gathering a list of players and choosing which rank best fits the individual was a tall task, but we do our best to keep them updated every three months. Our recent update includes an increase in the number of players ranked from 150 to 170. Here we begin our breakdown series by taking a brief look at 15 newcomers.
#18 | TYRAE WASHINGTON | 6’7 F | TAKOMA ACADEMY
By all accounts, Washington was the best unsigned senior at the Top 250 expo over the weekend. The MacDuffie transfer is in for a big year at Takoma Academy.
#20 | DWAYNE KOROMA | 6’6 F | BISHOP WALSH
Koroma has had schools like Tennessee already in to see him this preseason. The German import will be a key player for Coach Prete this season.
#45 | ARNARDO CAMACHO | 6’3 G | NATIONAL CHRISTIAN
A fierce competitor who makes plays on both ends of the floor, Camacho is one of the best kept secrets in the area.
#65 | JORDAN OATES | 6’4 SF | ATHOLTON
Oates is a prototypical three-and-D wing with a high floor. If his shot can stay consistent, his stock will keep going up.
#66 | XAVIER JOYNER JR. | 6’2 SG | MT. ZION PREP
Joyner is a dead-eye shooter who will benefit from his decision to take an extra year to prepare his body for the rigors of college.
#75 | TEON RUSHING | 5’9 PG | MERVO
One of the more underrated local point guards, Rushing is coming off a productive summer.
#87 | EMANUEL HENRIQUES | 6’4 SG | BEN FRANKLIN
Henriques impressed the Prep Hoops staff with his performance at the Will Barton Elite Camp and is a player to watch moving forward.
#98 | MALIK HOLLAND | 6’3 SG | OXON HILL
One of the biggest standouts from Capitol Hoops Summer League, Holland is expected to make a significant leap compared to last season in terms of production.
#102 | ANDRES FRYE | 6’3 G | MCLEAN SCHOOL
Frye was the DC Metro Area’s top scorer and rebounder. He should once again be the most dominant player in his league.
#105 | CORTLAND JOHNSON | 6’5 F | NEW HOPE
One of the most athletic players we saw at the DMVelite 80, Johnson is a name to take note of if you’re in need of an unsigned senior with some size.
#124 | DAVID NWANKWO | 6’5 F | TAKOMA ACADEMY
Nwankwo played well at the Top 250 Expo over the weekend, but this was no surprise as he is currently enjoying a strong run of play.
#126 | RONALD GROSE | 5’7 PG | MCKINLEY TECH
Grose is a true point guard who can run a team at a high-level and make winning plays. McKinley Tech’s success could hinge heavily on his performances during his senior year.
#127 | JAROD ROBINSON | 6’3 G | GLENELG COUNTRY
GCS has a sneaky-good team, and it looks Robinson will be a key contributor on the wing.
#129 | CAM SAPIENZA | 5’10 G | MOUNT SAINT JOSEPH
Sapienza really caught our eye at DMV Live, where he made shots and competed with high intensity on both ends of the court.
#134 | KIRAN KLING | 6’10 C | MARET
Kling is a promising high-academic post prospect who will try to help fill the void left by EJ Jarvis.
