Here were my top seniors I viewed:
Dyson Lighthall C 6’8 American Leadership Academy-Queen Creek
-The top senior at the event didn’t disappoint. He has soft and strong hands, He is highly skilled and plays hard. He can face-up to the 3pt line and in plus clean the glass. He is a good outlet passer and can carve out space inside to score it with his back to the basket.
Brennan Armijo SF 6’4 Desert Ridge
-Had one of the better showings from the perimeter this weekend. Was very consistent behind the 3pt line and drove the lane and scored it. He plays a smart floor game and was in a zone for most of the event.
Miles Sulka SG 6’3 Mountain Pointe
-Scoring guard seems to score it from anywhere on the court. He has a quick shooting release and always seems to outrun his competition. He was active in transition and on defense.
Jackson Risi SG 6’2 Valley Christian
-Top-tier shooter with a lights out release. Drove the lane well and has a high IQ. He will be a huge asset for the defending champions. Phillips and Risi will have some fun this year.
JD Feagles SG 6’2 Horizon
-Another sniper who is very athletic and defends his man. He also has a quick release and has unlimited range. He had multiple running blocks from behind showcasing his bounce. His natural strength and body has really come around.
Michael Batchelor SG 6’3 Millennium
-Plays hard every possession and can shoot it from deep. He is always giving full effort regardless of the score and knows the game well. He can drive the lane with a nice handle and digs in on defense.
Chrisitan Valle SG 6’2 Hamilton
-Catch and shoot gunner! He did what he does well and that is shoot it. He didn’t go out of his comfort zone to show what he couldn’t do, where many kids try doing too much. He has one of the strokes that looks good every attempt. It is another tough weapon that the East Valley schools will have to worry about.
Nigel Wilson C 6’7 Catalina Foothills
-All athlete here. A true two-sport athlete (played in a football game Friday night). Dunks the ball easily and moves fluidly around the court. He can cover a lot of ground on defense. He won’t score the ball too much for you outside of put-backs, an occasional hook shot and perimeter jumper but his activity and potential are worth a look.
Keyshon Upchurch PG 5’8 Seton Catholic
-Strong downhill PG who can defend his position. Tough as nails and built like a football player. Can shoot it plus uses the floater well.
TJ Tigler PG 5’9 Mountain Pointe
-Ultra quick ball handler who can shoot it from the perimeter. Has a nice floater game and defends his position with quick feet and hands.
Breagan Patten SG 5’11 North Valley Christian Academy
-A smart guard who plays hard. Has a nice looking shooting stroke from deep and has a good approach to the game.
