Brennan Armijo 6’5 2020 Desert Ridge
Brennan Armijo was the surprise of the event! I’ve never heard of him or seen him play but boy did he bring it today! The kid did a little bit of everything and simply could not be stopped from scoring the ball. Very good size and solid handles, could be tightened up a bit. Very good slashing wing.
Dyson Lighthall 6’8 2020 ALA-Queen Creek
Lighthall continues to get better and I really admire that, shows a true work ethic. Today, he showed that he is more than a low post option. He demonstrated the work he’s been putting in with his 3 ball and showed that he can bring the ball up court. Dyson continues to become more and more versatile every time I see him play.
Owen Shaw 6’6 2021 Arcadia
Shaw was one of the best shooters of the day, if not the best. His smooth shot fell early and often. In game one, he went 5-7 from deep and continued that all day. He also showed off some bounce with a big time dunk. I really liked what I saw from this kid.
Micah Pierce 6’6 2022 Desert Vista & Jacob Leslie 6’5 2020 MALC
Our last two prospects both made my list due to their efforts on the defensive side of the ball. Both showed that they are big time shot blockers, Pierce is more athletic but Leslie is a little more controlled and seasoned. Both played tremendous defense, especially down low and gathered up a ton of boards. They got their points when it came to them but defensive ability is why they stuck out to me!
