Tarris Reed, Jr. 6’8″ Chaminade: A talented power forward who was an impact player as a freshman last season. He is a tough inside player with excellent footwork, power and a nice touch around the basket. He can also put the ball on the floor and beat defenders with the drive and knock down mid-range jumpers. His rebounding and shot-blocking skills were also on display during an excellent summer showing with the MoKan Elite 15U squad.
Taj Manning 6’7″ Grandview: The versatile combo forward had an immediate impact as a freshman as he helped Grandview win its second consecutive Class 4 state championship. He scored a game-high 23 points in the state semifinals in a victory over Logan-Rogersville. He has a skilled post game with footwork, jump hooks and turnaround jumpers. He is also a matchup problem with his perimeter shooting and ball handling ability.
Jevon Porter 6’9″ Father Tolton: Another emerging prospect from the talented Porter basketball family, Jevon is a Stretch 4 who can really shoot it from long distance. He has excellent length and a nice skill set for a player of his size as he will also put it on the floor to create his own shot. He has a good shooting touch around the basket with both hands.
Kortez Stevenson 6’6″ Center: A big-bodied lefty with a versatile skill set. He uses his body to his advantage in the post to get position and he has excellent finishing ability. He won’t jump over people, but he can move defenders and score from different angles inside. He will also step out and knock down an open 3-pointer and also be effective on the drive when he gets to his storng hand.
Dampier Evans 6’6″ DuBourg: A very active post player who runs the court and has some explosive ability around the rim. As a freshman, he averaged seven points and nine rebounds while blocking two shots a game. His offensive game is still developing, but his energy and high work rate make him a very productive player.
Ike Ezeogu 6’5″ Blue Springs: A solidly built forward who plays a very aggressive game that is very effective. He likes to put in on the floor and attack the basket, which gives him an advantage against opposing bigs. He’s strong and he doesn’t mind taking the contact when he’s getting to the rim. He is also a very active rebounder.
Evens Appolo 6’9″ Father Tolton: A big post with a good body and a high motor, which really shows in his rebounding prowess. he loves to sweep the glass, especially at the defensive end and he will get out of his area as well. He has good mobility and can block and alter shots. His offensive is still a work in progress, but his upside is pretty big.
Keith Wasilewski 6’5″ Jackson: A bouncy young power forward who can run the court and dunk with the top young post players around. He is a strong rebound and shot blocker and he displayed some versatile skills with his ball handling and ability to shoot the 15 footer off the dribble. He is the next in the lane of talented forwards to come through the Jackson program.
Aaron Ledgerwood 6’8″ Glendale: A solid young post player who did an excellent job this summer while playing up at the 16U level with the Missouri Flight. He has good fundamentals in the post as he can sit down and get a wide base for teammates to find him. He keeps the ball up and finishes well at the rim.
Jimmy Lansing 6’7″ Chaminade: A future Division I football prospect as a lineman, but he is a skilled post player on the basketball court. He has excellent footwork in the lane as he can score on drop steps and spins moves in traffic. He is also very effective with both hands around the basket and his passing skills are also excellent.
