That said, there are always players who stand out among their peers, and those players deserve recognition for their performances. Here are my picks for the All-Expo team:
PG
Dallas Craven – 2020 6’0 Guard Desoto HS – Craven is a pass-first point guard with quickness to spare. He is great at manipulating the defense in order to get his teammates easy looks. His playmaking ability is off the charts. He also showed that he can be an effective scorer from mid-range.
SG
Rytis Petraitis – 2021 6’5 Shooting Guard (Texas Impact 4:13 16U) Arlington Oakridge – Petraitis was one of the best two-way players at the Texas Top 250 Expo. He plays with a lot of energy at both ends. He is so good at anticipating passes and coming up with steals. The junior guard is an excellent shooter from behind the arc too.
SF
Jaylon Tyson – 2021 6’5 Small Forward (Method Academy) John Paul II HS – This would be my personal pick for MVP of the event. He can do it all. Tyson was nothing short of dominant in each of the games he played in. He converts at a high rate from all three levels on offense. He had some highlight-worthy blocks at the other end as well. This guy is the real deal.
PF
Jordan Walsh – 2022 6’6 Wing/Power Forward (Nike Drive Nation E15) Oak Cliff Faith Family Academy – He is one of most versatile players in the state of Texas. Walsh is an explosive athlete who has the size to play in the frontcourt and enough skill to play in the backcourt. He plays above the rim and is constantly looking to put opponents on a poster.
C
Colbie Holiman – 2020 6’8 Power Forward/Center Red Oak HS – Holiman does a good job of carving out space for himself down low. He has nice touch in the post and showed that he can finish with both hands. Additionally, the senior big is a solid rebounder and a sneaky good interior passer.
