The 16th Annual Bay Area Competition Clinic, Saturday September 7, 2019 at Nor Cal Courts in Martinez California.  There was a mixture of grassroots team and high school.  This was a good opportunity for high schools to get some early team play together.  Here are some 2020  prospects who caught my attention this past Saturday.


A.J McGee 6'0 2020 Grant Union High School (Sacramento Ca)

I've had the opportunity to watch A.J multiple times during the summer with his grassroots team.  Saturday he was my top performer, playing with his high school team I see the tools of a solid player.  He has command of the offense, which means he's got the ball in his hands to either create his own shot or find teammates.   His ability to penetrate has never been in question. He knocked down 3's and mid range shots with some consistency, he's a good pick n roll guard,  and showed quality leadership on a good team.

Maxton Phillips 6'5 2020 Clovis West (Fresno Ca)

An all around solid performance from this long wiry prospect.  He's a good finisher around the basket, he's got that quick twitch which enables him to get his hands on a
