Prep Hoops takes a look at several of the state’s top performers throughout the spring and summer.
15 — Luke Adams, 6’0, G, 2021, Blue Valley North, MoKan 2021
A smart point guard who has great handles and the ability to break down opponents. He is great bringing the ball up the floor and can break full court presses. He is smart and has the ability to create shots for himself and others. He connects from a distance and can get to the basket.
11-Jack Johnson, 6’2, G, 2021, Andover, NLHA Gaddis
A rising junior, Johnson has been a player to watch in Kansas hoops since he burst onto the scene as a freshman two years ago. He has taken his game to new heights for NLHA Gaddis as he moved up to the 17U squad and has shown the ability to light up a scoreboard from distance. He is a solid defender, rebounder and has some all-around guard skills, but has been at his best dialing it up from behind the arc.
2 — Max Alexander, 6’0, PG, 2021, Buhler, Pray N Play
A confident player with the ball in his hands who can create and make things happen quickly. He shoots well from the perimeter and has good form and a soft touch. He plays well off the ball and can operate as a scoring guard or a point, capable of distributing well.
8-Joe Berry, 6’2, G, 2021, Washburn Rural
An excellent team player and floor general who thinks of others and plays an unselfish game. Berry competes well on the floor and he rebounds, blocks shots and looks to keep opponents on their toes. He can shoot well from deep and dominates through his hustle and effort around the glass.
10 — Devon Junghans, G, 2021, Salina South, SSA Elite Black 16U
Tough defensive minded player who runs the floor exceptionally well and is terrific attacking the basket. He is nails at the free throw line, and is working on adding a 3-point shot. He is physical on defense and is quick to react and good at trapping.
