Prep Hoops takes a look at several of the state’s top performers throughout the spring and summer.
21 — Justin Fawcett, 6’7, F, 2021, Eudora. Kansas Cagers
Fawcett is an athletic 6’7 big man who brings good agility to the floor. He runs the floor well, can defend in the post and gets on the glass for his team. He can switch out on the perimeter and hedge screens well and recover with his quickness and can finish shots around the basket.
23 — Mike Carson, 6’3, F, 2021, KS, Showtime 16U
Carson is a strong, athletic player with a feel for post play and making himself available along the baseline. He was a force on the boards as well, coming up with several key offensive rebounds and even showed the ability to step out and knock down 3-pointers. He’s one of the more underrated players on the rise in Kansas.
15 — Ryan Feldkamp, 6’5, F, 2021, Jefferson County, Kansas Cagers
A nice forward with good size and strength. He moves well inside and can defend the ball and apply strong pressure. He contests shots and also does well around the basket on offense. He fights for positioning and can surprise opponents.
51-Cade Wilson, 6’3, F, 2021, Manhattan, SSA Elite White 16U
Wilson is a good player who can get up the floor and score. He can make his way with matchups and back down opponents and scored over top of them. Wilson is an underrated forward who played well against much taller opponents and walked away scoring off contact looks on the move.
29 — Wyatt Roll, Desoto, Team KC Black
A strong, physical big man who works hard in the paint for rebounding position. He can maneuver inside and has the ability to create his own openings. Roll gets second chance looks as he is always looking for easy buckets and loose balls.
