Southwest Jets Fall League Preview
The Southwest Jets Fall League is almost here! It will start on September 8 and end on October 20. Games will begin at 12 PM every Sunday in between! All the action will be at Alton High School.
A pair of D1 prospects from Trinity Catholic in St. Louis will headline the loaded group of prospects that will be participating. Ryan Kalkbrenner is among the top centers in the country after he emerged this summer as a major defensive presence. Rashad Weekly-McDaniels is a big bodied point guard that is shifty with the ball in his hands and has a passing flair.
Another school from Missouri that will have multiple quality prospects in attendance is Hazelwood Central. Cole Farrell and David Roberts proved this summer for the Jets that they can be playmakers in the backcourt. Also watch out for Jonathan Dunn and Jeff Reed from the same school.
Alton will be well represented by Moory Woods and Ky’Lun Rivers. Woods had a strong close to the summer which helped boosted his stock. The duo will be joined by Cameron Shultz, Dante Herrin, and Larry Hill all from the 2021 class along with Cameron Edwards out of the sophomore class.
A ton of high level 2021 prospects will be at this Jets Fall League. They include the quartet that starred for their 16U squad over the summer in Ethyn Brown (Belleville East), Quani Rudd (Mt. Vernon), Shaun Riley (O’Fallon), and AJ Smith (Metro East Lutheran). All four are being pursued at the D1 and D2 levels early in the recruiting process.
Two of the best young prospects to watch are Caleb Burton (O’Fallon) and Jordan Pickett (Belleville East). Burton ranks as one of the top point guards in the 2022 class across the state and Pickett is trending in that same direction on the wing in 2023!
In addition to standout wing Quani Rudd who we mentioned with the 2021 group Mt. Vernon will have several other quality prospects that will be impact players this year in the South Seven Conference in Jackson Creel, Simon Wilson, and Dylan Harkins who will be playing at the Jets Fall League.
Other prospects we are excited to track during the fall include Dawson Algee (O’Fallon), Braxton Stacker (Belleville East), Mekhi Phillips (Lanphier), Marlon Owens (McCluer North), Chris Porter (O’Fallon), Demarcus Bean (Metro East Lutheran), Cole Dees (O’Fallon), and Jalil Roundtree (Edwardsville)!
