The two-day event also shined a spotlight on some of the more impactful transfers who switched schools over the summer. Below are five players who will don a new uniform this season.
Impact Transfers (Part II)
Marland Harris, from Dorsey to Westchester
Harris is one of a handful of new faces on the Westchester roster. The 6-foot-8 forward has really nice size and length and is a fluid athlete to boot. The senior will likely see plenty of time because of those attributes and could shore up the paint on the defensive end for the Comets.
Jason Hart II, from Dorsey to Taft
Hart is one of the highest IQ young point guards you will find. The 6-foot-1 lefty brings that intelligence on the ball to a Taft team that was in need of a reliable ball handler and decision maker to pair with plenty of athletic wings.
Christian Johnson, from View Park to Lynwood
Johnson has plenty of big game experience. He won a Division IV state championship his freshman year and brings a much-needed lead guard presence to Lynwood. Johnson is capable of playing on or off the ball because of his IQ and passing abilities to go along with his knack for scoring.
JoJo Johnson, from Damien to Westchester
Johnson was a member of a talented Damien team for stretches of his first two years in high school and now brings his smooth left-handed scoring acumen to the Comets. The 6-foot-2 shooting guard can heat up quickly from 3-point range and has the ball skills and elusiveness to score on dribble-drives into the paint.
Casey Jones, from Eastlake (WA) to Mater Dei
Jones averaged 20 points and 10 rebounds per game as a sophomore at Eastlake last season, and while those numbers will certainly dip because of the loaded team he’s joining, Jones should be a reliable glue guy off the bench for the Monarchs. The 6-foot-5 forward is a capable interior scorer and good rebounder in space.
