College coaches are allowed in high school gyms to check out talent as well as recruiting the players that they would love to see on their campus in the upcoming years. There were quite a few players that picked up offers during this time already and others that have trimmed down their list of colleges that they are considering.
Voyager Academy F/C Jonas Aidoo picked up an offer from Appalachian State, which was his first D1 offer. At 7 foot with a nice skillset and plenty of upside, he had already caught the attention of quite a few college coaches, so it will be interesting to see how everything plays out for him.
Former NC Standout and Nationally ranked Guard Jaden Springer has cut his list down to three schools with: Memphis, Michigan and Tennessee all being on the list. Clearly the proximity of two out of three of those programs to his home/family location could give them an edge but all three programs are top 25 caliber and we feel he will be an early production player regardless of where he lands.
Village Christian 2020 Guard Zavian Mclean recently picked up an offer from Brown University after taking a visit to VMI. VMI, Campbell, Brown, Catawba, Lander and others have all made offer to Mclean and it will be exciting to see where he lands.
Greensboro Day 2020 Guard Cam Hayes took a visit to NC State and it seems like many believe that they have a good shot at landing the Star Guard. Hayes is a talented player that reclassified up to the 2020 Class and has shown the ability to score the ball at a very high level.
Lumberton HS 2020 Guard Jordan McNeill has picked up quite a bit of interest with Charlotte and VMI both being schools that are possibly planning to drop in to see him. McNeill is one of the better rebounding guards in the area and plays the game with a toughness that you have to love.
Maryland has been one of the programs showing interest in Kinston HS 2021 Guard Dontrez Styles who has shown his talent and potential over the last few years. A strong player that can be a matchup problem for opponents, Styles is still overlooked by many for some reason but he’s hands down a nationally HM prospect.
Farmville Central 2020 Guard Justin Wright should have quite a few schools dropping in to see him as he is one of the better uncommitted guards around. Schools like Charleston Southern are already planning to drop in to check him out as well as other MM/HM programs.
LSU, Alabama, ECU, Louisville, NC State and others are all programs that have been showing high interest in 2020 Guard Josh Hall and rightfully so. Hall has been one of the largest stock risers in the country over the last year and brings a skillset at his height that you just don’t see on a regular basis.
