Brown played with a Minnesota Heat team that won 30 of 45 games leading the team deep into several tournaments. The Heat was a top ten team in the Hard Work Region of the Prep Hoops Circuit and the 7th ranked team in Minnesota.
“Some of the best experiences I had playing with the Heat was probably our out of town tournaments and just being in the hotel or in a different city with some of my teammates,” Brown explained.
“The games made me a better player because I got a lot of experience in different situations and it help my preparation off the floor because I know better how to lead and do things.”
Brown was an important piece off the Pirates bench a year ago but this year he will be much more than that. Brown will be one of the most reliable pieces on the Pirate roster.
“Well I was a role player coming off the bench as just a spot up shooter and coming on to provide more floor spacing last year but this year I’m one of our main guys,” Brown said. “I will be looked at to score a lot more and I will start and be a leader on our team.”
Brown is looking at two college programs the most right now, two schools that have offered him scholarship opportunity.
“I’m mainly just hearing from Denver and UMD,” Brown said. “I have a UMD set up for the 19th. I’m looking for a good location, good coaches, diverse city, diverse school, good program things like that mainly.”
And at Park Center, Brown wants to leave a legacy as a shooter and as a quality student athlete.
“I ant people to know me as one of the best shooters but not only just a shooter and known also how I handle myself and the way I balance my athletics and academics.”
