Recruiting Report: Chace Davis (2021)
Last month, we broke down the 30 best young cores in the DMV, and that included St. Andrew’s Episcopal School. As part of that young core, Chace Davis continues to mature and develop. Just ask his Head Coach, Kevin Jones.
“Chace is poised for a breakout season. And I don’t mean from a statistical standpoint. I know for a fact that Chace is going to be a lot more locked in and focused this season than he has been in the past. He has worked tremendously hard this off-season along with the other players on our team and he understands how important his role is to the team this season,” Jones told Prep Hoops. “It has been awesome watching Chace mature this summer. And that is a major credit to his family whom is very supportive but honest with him. And that starts with his mom and dad to his brother Steff. His leadership and maturity this year will be essential to our teams success.”
Davis was a key contributor for the this summer and is heading into his junior season with plenty of positive momentum. He’s worked hard to improve his skill set over the summer. As Coach Jones mentioned, his brother has been a big part of helping him develop these skills.
“I went down to UCF with my brother for a whole week and he showed me a bunch of shooting drills that will help me achieve my goals,” Davis said during a recent interview. “Shooting on the move, catch and shoot, shooting off the ball-screen. All game like shots that I believe I need to master to become more consistent with my shooting.”
Several division one programs are actively recruiting Davis at the moment. Some of the schools currently involved are George Mason, VCU, GW, Brown, Air Force, St. Joe’s, and Lafayette. In spite of this, Davis remains focused on the task at hand for the upcoming high school season.
“My goals for this year are winning a MAC championship. We have all the talent to accomplish it, putting our chemistry and talent together for the team to achieve this goal will be the key. Likewise, I also want to become a leader for my team and be a big contributor to our success.”
Chace Davis is currently ranked by Prep Hoops as a top-40 prospect in his class. To view the full rankings of Maryland and DC’s 2021 class, click here.
