There were only a few names from 2021 on the several Prep Hoops Circuit All 17U teams around the country and Brandin Podziemski was one of them. Podziemski was first team All Hard Work Region, second team All PH Circuit All American, all NY2LA League, and a 17u team champion for Wisconsin RAP.
“By far this summer has been the year where I have improved in the offseason,” Podziemski said. “With coach Scott Cook allowing me to play up with the older guys, it really taught me a lot. The areas it helped the most was my IQ and my mental and physical toughness and off the court the older guys helped me mature with all recovery and stuff.”
These are moments that the RAP players, and Brandin Podziemski won’t forget.
“The best moments for me was when the team was winning, that was my favorite part. I’m not a guy that cares about the stats at all, I just go out there and do anything in my power to win because ultimately at the next levels college coaches want winners and I bring that everywhere.”
The Brandin Podziemski though, they were very good as a sophomore. Brandin averaged 22.5 points and 9.3 rebounds while making 92 of 205 attempts from three-point range, 45 percent.
Podziemski is now a junior with high expectations for 2019-20.
“I’m just working on being a leader all the time and keep getting my guys better everyday,” Podziemski said. “My expectations are to win conference, conference player of the year, and move into the top 5 in the state but most importantly to WIN and to WIN it all!”
College coaches are starting to make contact. Not the amount that we think should be, but some very good schools.
“I’m hearing from Michigan, Valpo, Miami (OH), South Dakota State, and Air Force the most,” he said. “I’m looking for a place a place that fits what me and my family want. A great atmosphere, my degree I want, and most of all a winning program!”
