Manciel has an impressive skill set. First of all, he’s a bona fide scoring machine. There’s no part of the floor where he’s not a threat to get buckets. He can hit from beyond the arc, as well as put the ball on the floor and attack the rim. He draws the defense on the drive and creates open looks for his teammates. Manciel made a huge impression this summer on the defensive end. His on ball defense was incredible during grassroots season, where he created havoc for his opponents. He consistently picked up big stops and turnovers. Off the ball, Manciel’s understanding of help defense and rotations was outstanding.
Manciel understands that improvement and experience are critical to his long term success. He is currently focused on his decision making and his ability to control tempo. Manciel is working to get in the best shape physically that he can. He’s gaining weight and increasing his speed, all while staying in the gym perfecting his craft. His most memorable basketball moments were the first game that he scored 20 points, and a game against Belleville when he scored the final 3 points and hit the game winner.
Mak Manciel is a target for schools at the next level. He’s picked up interest from schools such as CMU, Holy Cross, GVSU, Northwood, Miami of Ohio, and Toledo. Additional schools have invited him to their prospect camps.
Manciel can bring a lot to a program at the next level. His work ethic is special, and it points to continued improvement in college. He’s willing and able to play whatever role a college team needs from him. Whether its scoring, hitting a teammate with an accurate pass, or picking up a big stop…..Manciel will get the job done.
Manciel is driven by his goals. He wants to earn a full ride scholarship and eventually make a living playing the game he loves. Manciel wants to use basketball as a way to provide for a family someday. Off the court, he would like to start his own business after completing 4 years of college.
