PLAYER OF THE YEAR – Adam Hobson
The Badger South is typically a conference that rewards a senior here. Hobson in the lone returning player off the first-team. Last season, Hobson averaged 16.8 points per game, leading the Vikings to a 13-11 mark.
BREAKOUT PLAYER – Cade Meyer
Meyer averaged around 11 points per game as a sophomore. The 6-foot-8 forward had a huge spring and summer on the travel circuit and jumped to No. 2 in the class of 2021 player rankings. A skilled, athletic forward with budding versatility, Meyer figures to be a huge mismatch problem in the Badger South this season.
SURPRISE PLAYER – Lance Nelson
Tough to find him a spot on the first two All-Conference teams, but definitely wouldn’t surprise us if he’s there. Monona Grove is going through a major roster turnover from last season. That said, Nelson’s role will increase greatly. Nelson averaged just 2.1 ppg last season. Showing off his shot creating skills over the summer, Nelson will likely have one of the bigger jumps within the conference this season.
