Sharar has established himself as one of the best players in Iowa’s junior class. A big-time scorer with in-the-gym range, he’s capable of dropping 40 on any given night for the Cadets.
First Team
2021 Karson Sharar, Iowa Falls-Alden (24.1 points, 4.3 rebounds, 2.1 assists, 1.9 steals)
One of the best pure scorers in the state, Sharar is far and away the leading returnee in scoring in the league. Despite playing in just seven games last year due to injury, his 21 made 3-pointers rank eighth among league returnees.
2020 Logan Aldinger, Iowa Falls-Alden (15.4 points, 3.4 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 64 3PM)
Aldinger stepped up in a big way with Sharar on the shelf for much of last season, showcasing himself to be a high-level scorer in his own right. His 64 made 3s are tops among returning players.
2020 Collin Bleich, Algona (15.0 points, 3.4 rebounds, 2.4 assists, 1.1 steals, 56 3PM)
A 6-2 wing, Bleich is another strong shooter in a league filled with them, making 56 3s at a 41.2% clip last year. He led the Bulldogs in scoring and ranked second in assists last season.
2022 Carson Toebe, Clear Lake (11.2 points, 4.6 rebounds, 5.3 assists, 1.4 steals, 51 3PM)
One of the state’s best sophomores, Toebe was a key piece for a Clear Lake team that was the last remaining undefeated team in the state last year. A versatile 6-2 point guard, he’s capable of scoring from all three levels, is a strong passer, and a smart defender. He’ll be the key piece for a Lions team that will be looking to maintain it’s hold on the conference.
2020 Jamison Heinz, Humboldt (12.3 points, 2.9 rebounds, 5.5 assists, 1.1 steals)
Toebe led the league in assists, but it was Heinz who averaged the most per game in the league. The 6-0 point guard posted an impressive 110-40 assist-to-turnover ratio, and ranked second on the team in scoring last season.
