We already gave you a glimpse into some of the top performers earlier in the week. Now we do a deep dive into the evaluations of prospects in the class of 2020. Here is PrepHoops Top 250: Scotty B’s 2020 Evaluation Part 1!
Everett Stubblefield (Willowbrook – 2020)
Stubblefield is a dynamic 5’10” point guard that is jet quick with the ball in his hand. He was outstanding when we saw him in the first game of the day. Pushes the pace in transition with his speed. Works well around ball screens getting downhill and making sound decisions with the rock. Played tough defense.
Connor McCance (Oswego – 2020)
McCance is one of the more intriguing sleeper post prospects in the 2020 class. At 6’8” center is a true five man that has a physical frame and rebounds extremely well in his area. Snatched boards at their highest point. Finished on put backs and on dump off passes. Excellent base and plays to his size.
Cristian Young (Joliet Catholic – 2020)
Young stands at 5’10” and this point guard proved to be a capable shooter knocking down a pair of threes when we were watching.
Marcus Hill (Rockford Christian – 2020)
This 6’3” combo guard presents quality size on the perimeter. Like how he used his size to overpower opposing guards attacking the paint.
Parker Higginbottom (St. Ignatius – 2020)
Higginbottom is a high IQ lead guard that makes plays with the ball in his hands. Was effective as a passer in the drive and kick game dishing to his shooters. He also knocked down a couple perimeter jumpers of his own when we were watching.
Nakyel Shelton (Schurz – 2020)
This wing showed well using his length on the defensive end of the floor. Consistently got in passing lanes. Several of the steals he took the other way for transition layups.
Finn Walsh (St. Laurence – 2020)
Walsh is a lead guard that plays with a ton of speed. Quickness in tight spaces allows him to make plays in the lane. At times he can go a bit too fast and turn the ball over. If he can harness that he will be an excellent find for a D3 program. Regularly split the defense and got to the rim. Plays with a really high motor.
Jayson Kent (Oak Forest – 2020)
Kent is an intriguing wing prospect. At 6’6” he has size and length on the perimeter. Smooth with the ball in his hands. Had a sweet euro step that was so fluid when we were watching. He is one of the better shooters in the class with picture perfect form with a free and easy stroke. Best basketball is ahead of him!
Isaiah Youngquist (DeKalb – 2020)
Youngquist can really put the ball in the hoop. The DeKalb scoring guard jumped on our radar last high school season and that continued through the summer with Next Generation. He is a microwave type scorer that can heat up in a hurry with his three point shot and crisp ball handling.
Daniel Okogun (Joliet West – 2020)
Thick bodied shooting guard out of Joliet West. Brings a level of toughness and grit to the table. Did hit a three when we were watching.
John Sanders (TF South – 2020)
The TF lead guard is a powerful point guard that made several nice finishes in the paint.
Keon Killins (Plainfield East – 2020)
Killins is a smaller point guard, but this kid flat out competes all the time! Crisp ball handler that can win off dribble penetration. Quality passer when looking to distribute and is a capable three point shooter.
Myles Cooper (Bolingbrook – 2020)
Cooper is an athletic combo guard that makes plays in the open floor in transition. Also hit a deep pull up three.
