Shawn Wilson, 2021, Legion Academy
Shawn Wilson showed off a solid skill set with his ability to get to the rim and knock down shots from anywhere on the floor. He broke down the defense on multiple occasions for buckets. He’s also got some underrated athleticism that he showed off as well, playing above the rim.
Jermaine Burnette Jr., 2021, Chapel Hill
Jermaine Burnette Jr. is an emerging prospect that’s lightning-quick with everything he does. He defended the ball 94-feet and showed off his ability as a downhill driver with the ball in his hands. He finished tough at the rim no matter who was in the paint. He’s due for a strong season at Chapel Hill.
Omari Bolden, 2021, Parkland IB Magnet School
Omari Bolden was mentioned as a Top 10 performer for a reason. He showed confidence with the ball in his hands with the ability to get to the rim and finish with authority and knock down 3-pointers. He made an effort to show off his sharpshooting ability and it really stood out.
JohnAnthony Baker, 2021, Cox Mill
Ultimate competitor is the first phrase that comes to mind when describing JohnAnthony Baker. Baker had a nose for the ball on defense, forcing steals and getting out on the break and even showed off his ability to finish above the rim. He’s a got a nice frame for a guard at 6-foot-2.
Cam Oates, 2022, Trinity Christian
Cam Oates is due for some big-time attention from college coaches with his abilities. He’s a high-level ballhandler and shot creator that can get anywhere he wants on the floor and score. He went at it with a number of point guards with his competitive attitude. Buy stock now.
Gunner Walters, 2022, Mount Tabor
Gunner Walters is the epitome of “Don’t let his looks fool you.” He isn’t the biggest guard at 5’11 but he makes up for it with his high IQ and knack for running the pick-and-roll. He showed poise in reading his man off the screen, shifting the defense and getting to the rim. He’s one to watch at Mount Tabor.
Jordan Vick, 2023, Southern Nash
Another big-time prospect is Jordan Vick. He’s a high-level playmaker that has a knack for getting to the rim and finishing through traffic as well as a solid floor game. He’s also got some athleticism that carries him on defense to block shots at the rim.
Jamal Townsend, 2023, Rocky Mount
Jamal Townsend showed off impressive range and confidence with his ability to knock down 3-pointers and create shots off the dribble. He’s advanced for his class and should make a ton of noise at Rocky Mount High School this upcoming season.
Prashant Hill, 2023, Cannon School
Prashant Hill was one of the few freshman to make waves at the expo. He was a confident shooter and slasher throughout the day for his squad and showed why he could make an impact right away at Cannon School. He’s got a nice wingspan on the wing that allows for him to get his shot off in the paint and from behind the arc.
