Best Defender: Collin Guilford, 2020, Greenfield School
Collin Guilford turned defense into offense often this past weekend. He was the first to the floor, a pest on the ball and got a lot of easy layups with his ability to play passing lanes and force turnovers. He’ll be one to watch this upcoming season at Greenfield.
Garrett McRae, 2020, Scotland
Garrett McRae was considered the Most Outstanding Player at the expo for a reason. His defense was stellar as his offense as his made defensive plays both on the ball and at the rim. He showed off his athleticism as a shot-blocker and strength forcing steals from opponents.
Bradley Williams, 2020, Millbrook
Bradley Williams was another prospect that asserted himself on defense. He picked up full-court on numerous occasions and forcing steals, showing off his ability to defend the basketball. He’s a strong guard that’s confident defending 94-feet and attends a top school in the state.
Tylan Green, 2020, Sanderson
Tylan Green used his athleticism well for much of the expo, blocking shots at the rim and securing rebounds for his squad. He showed poise on both ends and was effective at making an impact in the paint. He’ll be one to keep an eye on at Sanderson.
Jonas Aidoo, 2020, Voyager Academy
Jonas Aidoo used his size well at 6-foot-11 to block shots and rebound the basketball. He showed his strength in the paint by altering shots both at the rim and around the perimeter. He also showed confidence in taking the ball down the floor off rebounds and creating on the other end.
Zion Shirley, 2021, Butler
Zion Shirley is an emerging defender with tons of length. He made his presence felt on the defensive end, trapping the basketball and running passing lanes. He took a number of steals coast-to-coast and made plays on the other end.
