Josh Thorbahn 6’5″ SF Jr. (Ottoville) – Josh was probably one of the my favorite players I watched Saturday. He plays hard, is skilled and very unselfish. He has a toughness to him and will impose his physicality against his opponent. This lefty is a combo forward with his ability to post up smaller or weaker opponents, yet able to go out on the perimeter and make 3’s are drive it for himself or others. D2 is a sure thing, but LM-MM need to check in on him and see if he is the missing piece to their program.
Gavin Schoeneman 6’6″ SF Sr. (East Canton) – Skilled sleeper from Saturday. He is a true SF and has the skill to play out there effectively. He can shoot, pass and create for himself and others. He must get stronger and rebound better to take advantage of his size at that position. He may still be growing as well. In addition to his basketball skill, his best sport maybe track where is is being recruited as a high jumper. However, D2 or lower need to check in on him.
Aidan Reichert 6’4″ F Jr. (Jackson Center) – Aidan is similar to Josh, but not quite as skilled or athletic. While he can play effectively on the perimeter, he destroys people in the post and on the boards. Like Josh, Aidan is a lefty that plays extremely hard and will only get better. He will be an asset to any D2 program because of the way he competes. May not be done growing, but his strength allows him to play effectively vs. taller opponents.
Demari Martin 6’5″ SF Jr. (Winton Woods) – Demari is an interesting prospect that has all the tools to move up the ranking list in the next 12 months. He is very skilled, long and a good athlete. Likes to shoot the 3 a little too much, but is average there. He needs to get to the rim a lot more where he can use his length and athleticism to his advantage. He also needs to clean up his shot selection and get his teammates more involved. However, he has the ability to play at the LM-MM level if he clean that up. All D2 need to stay in touch just in case.
Isaac Settles 6’6″ F/G Jr. (Thomas Worthington) – Similar to Demari, he is tall, long and athletic and is very skilled. The thing that is holding Isaac back the most when I saw him was his motor. He needs to play harder and be relentless on the floor. He has all the tools if he learns to play hard all the time. He is tall, long and good athlete with good skills. He is another one that one from MM to D2 needs to keep an eye on over the next 12-18 months.
Brandon Gibson 6’4″ Sr. SF (Chaminde Julienne) – Brandon is a sleep that D2 and lower need to see this winter. He has a good frame, is long and a decent athlete. Plays on the perimeter effectively, but needs to be able to shoot the ball better to maximize his talent. However, for a true 3, he can rebound very well, which will allow him to play some 4 and be able to get on the floor more in the right program at the next level
