For a basketball coach, it's not often when a 6'6" transfer ends up in the hallways of your school during the first week of classes. However, for South Cobb head man Gregory Moultrie that is exactly how he discovered senior Emon Washington and with this new discovery, along with talent already present (i.e 2022 G Zocko Littleton Jr.), the Eagles are one of the favorites to win Georgia's Class 6A state championship this upcoming season. Washington enters his final prep season in Atlanta but this time last year he was preparing for his junior season for Yazoo County in Mississippi. The Panthers were able to reach 30-1 with a perfect 10-0 region record a season ago and advanced to the Class 3A final four, losing to eventual state champion Velma Jackson. Washington, who averaged 16.5 ppg during the year on 56% shooting, will hope to finish that state championship run with South Cobb and will use his 6'6" athletic frame to do everything he can in that regard.
