One word to describe the Word of God Christian Academy Holy Rams is loaded! Led by five-star forward Isaiah Todd, the Holy Rams have quite the rotation brewing out in Raleigh. Todd joins Word of God after spending time at Trinity Academy (Raleigh) this past season and looks more ready than ever to hit the hardwood with his new squad.
Joining Todd is 2020 point guards Chase Forte and Lance Anthony Jr., 2022 wing PoBoigh King, 2020 forward Saiquone Harris, 2020 guard Quandre Bullock, 2020 big man Josiah Shackleford, 2022 point guard Khalil Marshall, 2021 guard Eric Shadoan and 2020 twin forwards Kanaya and Kenechi Nwosu.
Each player brings their own skillset to the table and it starts with Isaiah Todd. Todd is a big man with a guard’s handles and jump shot. At this point in his development, there’s nothing he can’t do. Forte is a shifty point guard on offense and an underrated defender. He opened their scrimmage with a steal. He’s got Khalil Marshall pushing him and by season’s end, they’re going to make each other much better players.
PoBoigh King is a player that’s going to turn a lot of heads with his ability to score on all three levels and attack the paint off the dribble.
Saiquone Harris is a long forward that gets out on the break and finishes tough at the rim. As he learns to play with a strong pool of talent, his game will improve mightily.
Quandre Bullock is an explosive guard with tons of athleticism in his wheelhouse. He’s a guard that should start getting a lot of attention from college programs and has already heard from East Carolina, Jacksonville State, Mount Olive and Barton.
Big man Josiah Shackleford is another prospect that should turn heads with his ability to dominate the paint and the glass. Right now, he holds an offer from Coppin State.
Eric Shadoan is a sharpshooter with a green light to shoot from anywhere on the floor and with good reason. He knocked down a number of shots from behind the arc, showcasing what he can do.
Khalil Marshal is a defensive nightmare that pressures the basketball and quite the outside shooter himself. He’s got room to really develop with his knack for passing first and scoring second as a true floor general.
The wildcards of the group are the Nwosu twins. Kanaya and Kenechi are two long, athletic guards at 6-foot-5 that can play above the rim and create off the dribble. While their games are almost identical, Kanaya is more of a threat on the wing while Kenechi is more of a paint presence and a banger down low.
The Holy Rams have only been after it in workouts for roughly a week so far but head coach Byron Williams and company has this group on the right track.
