The team has lost only 1 senior to graduation and return the dynamic duo of 2021 guard Terence Harcum Jr. and 2021 guard Jamari Mann. Harcum is a 6-foot-2 guard that a lot more explosive off the bounce after spending a lot of time in the weight room. Mann is a 6-foot-1 guard that’s gotten much better finishing at the rim since last season.
Both rising juniors have started every game for the Granville Central varsity squad since their freshmen years. Harcum has amassed 1,287 points and scored his 1,000th point in his 43rd Varsity game. He produced 25.7 points, 4.9 rebounds, 4.8 assists and 3.5 steals per contest and took home District 6 Player of the Year and first-team All-Conference and first-team All-District honors.
Mann put up 15.6 points per game on 73 made 3 pointers and earned first-team All-Conference and third-team All-District honors for his play. He’s an accurate sharpshooter that shot 34 percent from behind the arc.
Aside from Harcum and Mann, they’ve got 2020 guards Seth Wade, Ihzayah Marcellus, forward J.J. Tilley, 2021 guard J.R. Reed and forward Tyler Coley.
Wade has the ability to stretch the floor with outside shooting, an area where the team should be vastly improved. Marcellus is a scrappy guard that can shoot it and moves well without the ball. Tilley has had a productive offseason and should be a versatile piece for them on the wing and on the inside. Reed is a wiry guard with range and aggressive slashing ability. Coley, although he’s with football, should shore up the frontcourt with his ability to rebound and protect the paint.
The team made it all the way to the third round of last year’s state tournament and should be contenders for the region and 1A State Title alongside other top programs in the area.
